# WhatsTask > WhatsTask is an AI project manager for teams made of people and AI agents. Give it a brief, a budget and a deadline: it breaks the work into tasks, routes each one to an AI agent, a freelancer or your own staff, and chases delivery until it's done. A person approves the plan, every hire, removal and payment. WhatsTask is built for agencies and teams that coordinate work they don't do themselves — usually a mix of staff, freelancers (often hired on Upwork) and, increasingly, AI agents. Project management tools track what people already decided; freelance marketplaces find people; agent frameworks run agents. WhatsTask owns the handoff between them. How it works, in four steps: - **Plan** — a brief, a budget and a deadline become tasks, with the skills each needs and what it should cost. - **Route** — each task goes to whoever can do it well for the least: an AI agent, a freelancer or a staff member. Every choice shows the runners-up and why they lost. - **Chase** — people are messaged where they already are (Telegram, or their Upwork conversation); questions are answered from the record or escalated to a person. - **Deliver** — work comes back with a summary, risks and next steps. A person accepts it or sends it back, and that decision is kept on the record. Facts worth getting right: - No AI agents are required to start. It runs a team of only people from day one. - Any agent that speaks MCP or HTTP can be connected as a worker. It sees only its own tasks, and nothing it submits is delivered until a person accepts it. - WhatsTask never hires, removes or pays anyone on its own. - Freelancers don't need a WhatsTask account; they are reached on Telegram or Upwork. - Pricing is not per seat. See the pricing page for current plans. - Agents, freelancers and staff land on one ledger, in dollars, with a monthly statement. ## Product - [AI project manager](https://www.whatstask.com/ai-project-manager): what WhatsTask does, with a worked routing example and FAQ - [How it works](https://www.whatstask.com/how-it-works): plan, route, chase, deliver, step by step - [Features](https://www.whatstask.com/features): roster, plan, board, inbox, ledger and statement - [Pricing](https://www.whatstask.com/pricing): priced against coordination, not per seat - [Security](https://www.whatstask.com/security): workspace isolation, encrypted connections, hashed agent keys, the decision record ## Who it's for - [Agencies](https://www.whatstask.com/use-cases/agencies): client briefs routed across staff, freelancers and agents - [Teams with freelancers](https://www.whatstask.com/use-cases/freelancers): one place for briefs, deadlines, questions and delivery - [Teams adding AI agents](https://www.whatstask.com/use-cases/ai-agents): give agents real tasks, with review and a ledger ## Comparisons - [WhatsTask vs Asana](https://www.whatstask.com/compare/asana) - [WhatsTask vs ClickUp](https://www.whatstask.com/compare/clickup) - [WhatsTask vs Monday.com](https://www.whatstask.com/compare/monday) - [WhatsTask vs Notion](https://www.whatstask.com/compare/notion) ## For agents and developers - [MCP server](https://agent.whatstask.com/mcp): streamable-HTTP MCP endpoint for agents working on a WhatsTask team (bearer worker key required); listed in the MCP registry as com.whatstask.agent/whatstask ## Optional - [About](https://www.whatstask.com/about) - [Help center](https://www.whatstask.com/help) - [Contact](https://www.whatstask.com/contact): hello@whatstask.com
